“Entrepreneur”—What It Means to Me

Many people in the business world call themselves entrepreneurs. Some of them are ethical; some are not.

Some are outright charlatans whose business skills are defined by their abilities to separate hardworking people from their money.You can call yourself an entrepreneur,
but if your motives are cheating others and/or acquiring successful companies and liquidating them just to generate personal wealth, then as far as I’m concerned, you are
not an entrepreneur.

I personally reserve that title for people who create success through their own ideas,
initiatives and foresight. To me, turning other people’s money into your money does not really qualify as entrepreneurial.

My success is not based on traditional business training, the manipulation of others or blindly lucking into money but on principles I learned, often by accident
and mostly through perseverance. In looking back on my early experiences in business, I realized that I had applied the same principles to each of these early
endeavors.

Consequently, I began strategically applying these principles to each new and successive endeavor and miraculously my career took off like a shot!

In those early years when I was green and the furthest thing from savvy, I was feeling my way through the marketing and business world. It is my hope that you will be inspired by my story, learn and apply my formula for success and avoid this step.
As an adult, when I started my first business, I went from having no money to generating millions of dollars.

As you will soon discover, you can do the same thing at home with nothing more than a computer, an Internet connection, and a little motivation and innovation. All
that is required is passion and a little intestinal fortitude.

About 42% of Americans Will Retire ‘Broke’… Don’t Be Among Them!

Nearly half of middle-class Americans face a slide into poverty as they enter their retirement, a recent study by the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis at the New School has concluded.

That risk has been driven by depressed earnings, depressed asset values and increased health-care costs — causing 74 percent of Americans planning to work past traditional retirement age. Additionally, both private and public pension plans have been allowed to become seriously underfunded. So what can be done?

Fundamental changes in the structure of the U.S. economy, combined with increased health-care costs and lack of saving, have created a financial trap for millions of American workers heading into retirement.

Roughly 40 percent of Americans who are considered middle class (based on their income levels) will fall into poverty or near poverty by the time they reach age 65, according to the study.

The study also concluded that if workers age 50 to 60 decide to retire at age 62, 8.5 million of them are projected to fall below twice the Federal Poverty Level, with retirement incomes below $23,340 for singles and $31,260 for couples. Further, 2.6 million of those 8.5 million downwardly mobile workers and their spouses will have incomes below the poverty level — $11,670 for an individual and $15,730 for a two-person household.

It can be debated as to how this happened. Who is to blame? Who is ultimately responsible for a retiree’s well-being in retirement?

Most importantly, though, employers and employees need to focus on a fix. Personal savings is obviously a needed conversation. And sponsors of pension plans — whether corporate, governmental or multi-employer — need to ensure they are doing their part.

Not coincidentally, older Americans increasingly continue to work longer than their forebears. More than 20 percent of the workforce in the United States is 55 or older, a historic high, and that percentage is expected to increase — 74 percent of Americans now say they plan to work past traditional retirement age.

  1. You gotta sell something. I’ve known people who were “in business” for months, yet hadn’t sold a thing. Until you start to sell somebody’s product (yours or someone else’s, doesn’t matter) you don’t have a business.
  2. Get into profit as fast as possible. If you’re buying traffic, figure out how to make that traffic pay as soon as humanly possible. If you’re outsourcing work, find a way to make that work more than pay for itself. Sure it’s human sense, but I’ve seen a few folks go to a serious debt.
  3. Make smart investments that pay off.  Hiring a coach, finding a mentor, that shows you what you need to know is smart – throwing a few thousand at Facebook ads (without knowing how to do it right) is dumb. Investments are sometimes the fastest way to get your business on the fast track, but you’ve got to be smart about them.


4.  Turn lookers into prospects and then into buyers as soon as possible. If this means selling them a $5 dollar eBook, do it. That is the way they can know you, before they will see the value of your advice and will trust you.

5. Upsell. Once people buy the $5 eBook, realize they have greater needs that eBook won’t fill, so find a way to fill that needs and wants and charge more for this ( don’t forget to deliver more value for that).

6. Make it brain dead easy for your customers to sign up. The harder it is, the fewer customers you will have.

7. Competition in your niche is generally great. No competition means you are in the wrong niche.

8. Get to know your competitors personally. Send them email, talk to them on Skype. You’ll be surprised how often competitors can be turned into allies – and the first step is to say hello.

9. Make a new connection every day. This might be your competitors, but it could also be people in similar niches, different niches, affiliates, product owners, etc. Make a list of people you want to get to know and then start contacting them with no agenda except seeing if you can help them in some way.

10. Build a customer list, then create products for them. Building the product first means you’ve got no one to sell it to and puts you at the mercy of affiliates. Building the list first and getting that list toasty warm to your offer means you’ve got sales of your new product (when it launches) from day one and stats to show potential affiliates that totally rock.

11. Your customers are not numbers. And they’re not strangers, either. They are your relations, friends and your next door neighbors. Think of them that way and you can’t go wrong.

12. Watch the hype. A little hype in the form excitement and enthusiasm is okay if you can back it with evidence. Too much hype and no one will believe you, even if what you say is true.

13. Use the element of surprise. When you deliver your product, add something surprising for the customer. When you are paying your star affiliates, send them a bonus surprise – even if it’s just a small Amazon certificate. Always do a little bit more than expected.

14. Treat your active affiliates and JV or ClickBank partners like gold, because that’s what they are.

15. It’s okay to screw up. And fail. And feel stupid. And look like a complete dork on social media. Just learn from your mistake, apologize and keep moving forward. The only people who don’t fail are those who don’t do a thing, and you don’t want to be one of those.

16. Make a list of the 3 things you MUST get done today. Then do them.

17. Do the toughest thing first thing in the morning. What ever it is – running 5 miles or making that phone call you dread – get it done first. The the rest of the day is easier by comparison.

18. It’s not always fun. Sorry about that but it’s true – having your own online business means sometime you have to do things you don’t like. The trick is to suck it up and do it – or find someone to outsource it to. It’s like a journey – to get to your destination sometimes you have to drive through neighborhoods or even whole stretches of road that aren’t fun – do it anyway.

To get more understanding, let read this…

Question: “What did Jesus mean when He said, ‘Ask and you shall receive’?”

Answer: Jesus said, “Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” in John 16:24. Similar statements are found in Matthew 7:7; 21:22; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:9; and John 15:7. Is this a blanket promise with no conditions? If we ask for three hundred pounds of chocolate delivered to our door, is God obligated to give it to us? Or are Jesus’ words to be understood in light of other revelation?

If we assume that “ask and you will receive” means “ask for anything you want and I’ll give it to you,” then we have turned the Lord into a cosmic genie who serves our every whim. This is the problem of prosperity gospel and word of faith teachings.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says that whoever asks receives, whoever seeks finds, and whoever knocks will find an open door (Matthew 7:7–8). But with this and all other verses we must examine the context. Jesus goes on to say that God will not fail to give His children good things (verse 11). So, this is one condition to the promise of “ask and receive”: what we ask for must be good in God’s estimation. God will give advantageous gifts to His children; He will not give us bad or injurious things, no matter how much we clamor for them. The best example of a good gift is the Holy Spirit, according to Luke 11:13. We begin to see a two-fold purpose of prayer—to increase our understanding of what God calls “good” and to cultivate a desire in us for what is good.

Our prayers to God are not unlike our requests of men. Our prayers are based in a relationship, as Jesus points out in Matthew 7:8.

If a child asks his father for something the father knows to be hurtful, the request is denied. The child may be frustrated and unhappy when he doesn’t get what he asked for, but he should trust his father. Conversely, when the child asks for something that the father knows is beneficial, the father will provide it eagerly because he loves his child.

3 Reasons Why You Should not Babysit your Downline

When it comes to MLM Network Marketing building your group is one of the most vital components to your business. Your downline is basically the people that are actively working the business, usually as distributors. In the beginning it is very important to be there for your people, as they will have questions and problems that you can help them solve. However, after a certain point you have to cut the apron strings and allow the people in your downline to work on their own.  Here are three reasons that you should not babysit your downline if you want your MLM business to grow effectively: (posted by Nate Leung)

In the beginning it is crucial that you are there to mentor and train all of your distributors. However, you can quickly fall into the trap of answering every question they have and doing things for them that they could do for themselves. You are obviously responsible for properly training your team, but once they have a good understanding of the company or products then it is time to let them grow on their own. If you are spending all of your time assisting your downline then you won’t have time for the more important aspects of your business. If you have a distributor that is taking an inordinate amount of your time, then you need to have a discussion with them or even consider letting them go. Remember, time is money, particularly when you work from home.

2. They will not grow into leaders

At some point you have to let the birds out of the nest if they are going to fly. Ultimately you would like your distributors to grow into leaders that are recruiting other people and growing your business. If you are constantly holding their hand along the way or doing things that they could do for themselves, then you are simply stunting their growth and the growth of your business. Once you have given them the tools and training to succeed then it is time for your distributors to become leaders.

Why People Quit in MLM3. Your business will not grow if you babysit your downline

 

One of the most important parts of an MLM business is growing it through recruitment. If you are spending too much time dealing with every question your distributors have then you will not be out there recruiting new members. You might find that your business is suddenly stuck in the mud and that your growth is not what it should be. A big reason that MLMs grow stagnate is that the leader is not spending their time effectively. If you want your business to grow then you need to use your time efficiently.

These are just three reasons that you should not waste too much time babysitting your downline. If you find that you are spending too much time dealing with prospects (distributors) then it is probably time to reassess your training methods or even consider getting new distributors. The only way to effectively grow your MLM business is by having a downline that is capable and willing to take leadership roles.

Dangerous word Free

You cannot have everything for free.

I would say you can have nothing for free (when it comes to business or something commercial). I think it’s clear that this word is being used according psychological laws. (other part of article was posted by internet entrepreneur Jeff Herring)

Here is why!

Programs advertise this word – F R E E – all the time to get you to join.  However, if no money ever changes hands, how can anyone earn an income?  Online business is overall cheaper than offline, because you do not deal with some of the typical expenses, such as land, buildings, equipment.  You work out of your existing residence using an online connection you already subscribe to, and you use a computer, tablet or phone you already own.

Online businesses still have costs, such as scripts, merchant accounts and hosting.  Therefore, the business must recoup these costs plus some profit as they put a price on the product, service or training they are providing.

Some people forget these costs and are just free loaders, trying to get something for nothing.  Another possibility is because they have lost some money trying to figure out online marketing, and their reluctance for risk is driving this behavior.

Let me present you with some real life examples:  You would never go to a gas station and expect free gas, a restaurant and expect a free meal, or a grocery store and expect free milk and eggs.  Yet somehow a lot of people associate online business as free.

For anyone to make an income, money must pass from one person to another.  Otherwise, what incentive would anyone have to start an online  b u s i n e s s.  This is a simple concept you need to realize if you plan to be serious about an online income.

As you start to build you affiliate business, you can go free on some aspects of your business, mainly traffic generation.  Using traffic exchanges, safe lists, and social media to send traffic to your offers.  However, realize this is a cost in time, not money, but it is a cost to you.

Review Brian Tracy and his book Eat the frog.

This eat that frog story comes from Mark Twain. Mark Twain once said that, “If the
first thing that you do when you wake up in the morning is to eat a live frog, you’ll
have the satisfaction of knowing that’s probably the worst thing that’s going
to happen to you all day long.”

We all have only 24 hours per day. We cannot change that. Some people use that 24 hours per day in  more efficient way and eventually get the job done. Other people finish their day and get only minimum possible things done.

We don’t want to eat that frog. So we procrastinate. Advice from Mark Twain has 2 points.

  1. If you have to do something very hard or unpleasant (ugly frog) start you day with this (don’t spoil the rest of the day).
  2. If you have to do 2 hard tasks today do the most difficult first ( the ugliest frog).

You cannot manage time, you can manage the things (events) that you can do during the day (or the order of events). It’s really the management of the sequence of events in your life.

Personal management is the ability to choose what you do first, what you do second, and what you do later if at all. Way you use your time and order of choices you make really changes  output of whole day.
