how to drink water right way

how to drink water right way

You have been drinking water the wrong way all your life.

Yes. Water is life. Water is panacea.

But if it is drunk the wrong way, it becomes the reason for most shocking health problems.

Most people are unaware that they are unintentionally drinking water the wrong way. In this video I discuss about 5 common mistakes that 96% people do while drinking water.

The correct way to drink water is to sit down with a glass of water, and drink it sip by sip. One should consume at least 2-3 litres of water in a day. Drinking room temperature water over very cold water should be preferred.

When is the best time to drink water?

*Whenever you are thirsty. “Ayurveda hasn’t mentioned drinking water first thing in the morning. But since you haven’t eaten anything for 7-8 hours, it’s a good idea to drink lukewarm water in the morning, but only if you feel thirsty,” mentioned Bhavsar.

01:11 – #5 Reason that you are drinking water the wrong way. This is probably the most common and the most damaging thing almost everybody does. It becomes the reason for most grievous health issues later.

02:09 – #4 Reason that you are drinking water the wrong way. This is the side of fast modern life. People hardly spend time drinking water. They just gulp it.

03:08 – #3 Reason that you are drinking water the wrong way. Many people do this mistake after a strenuous workout session or after coming back from office. The harmful effects are many.

04:02 – #2 Reason that you are drinking water the wrong way. This is due to the result of negative marketing.

04:46 – #1 Reason that you are drinking water the wrong way. This is another side effect of fast lives. Or I should say that most people are unaware of this aspect.

05:31 – When you should drink water?

06:00 – How much water should a person drink?

06:24 – In which utensil should we drink water?

How should you be drinking water?

While sitting. “Avoid drinking water while standing as it can have an adverse effect on your kidneys, and can even lead to arthritis. Sitting while drinking water allows your body to better filter the nutrients and direct the water to areas that need nourishing, rather than going directly into your stomach with a force, as it does when standing. Also, we typically drink water a lot faster while standing, which brings your nerves into a state of tension,” she explained.

how to drink water right way

What is the best way to drink water?

Instead of gulping a glass of water, enjoy it by drinking sip-by-sip.

What temperature water is best for you?

Either room temperature or tepid (lukewarm) water. “Please avoid icy cold water,” she mentioned.

How much water to drink?

“I was also under the impression that we need to drink plenty of water for better skin, immunity, and digestion. But that’s not correct. If you drink a lot of water, you might feel bloated. Also, it could dampen your digestive fire and increase kapha dosha. So, water is important and you need to drink enough but not more. Try to listen to your body. You’ll know when your body needs water and when it needs food. Just needs a little bit of practice and you’ll ace listening to your body and feeding it accordingly,” mentioned Bhavsar.

How To Descale A Kettle

How To Descale A Kettle

How To Descale A Kettle With Vinegar

1. Pour 250ml of White Vinegar into the kettle

2. Pour 250ml of Water into the kettle

3. Bring to boil

4. Allow to cool

5. Pour out mixture

6. Rinse out several times until the smell of vinegar has vanished

7. Wipe down the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth

Using vinegar to remove limescale is non-toxic and detergent free.

To prevent limescale pour out any excess water from the kettle when you have finished using it. It is also possible to purchase a kettle descaler, which is a steel mesh ball that collects limescale when placed inside the kettle.

1

Mix 2 cups (470 mL) of vinegar and water and pour them into the kettle. If the volume of your kettle is too small for this mixture, fill it about halfway and place any leftover solution to the side. For best results, use white vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio.[1]

  • If yours is an electric kettle, make sure it’s unplugged before pouring in the water and vinegar.
  • It’s a good idea to check the owner’s manual for your particular kettle to make sure that it’s safe to add vinegar to the interior.

Tip: There are commercial descalers available, but make sure they are specifically for use on kettles and are not metal descalers. If you choose to use one, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

This all Do It Yourself Series…

Kettles tend to build up a terrible-looking limescale over time.

This build-up causes water to take longer to boil and can even lead your kettle to burn out in the long run.

Fortunately, if you begin to notice limescale build-up in your kettle, you can easily use vinegar or lemon juice to get rid of it.

2 – with vinegar

Turn the kettle on and bring the vinegar solution to a boil. Plug in the kettle if it’s electric or turn on the stove underneath a stovetop kettle to boil the solution. Let the solution boil for about a minute or so.[2]

  • Feel free to use a high heat setting to bring the solution to a boil as quickly as possible. It shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes to get it boiling.

Turn off the kettle once the solution is boiling and let it sit for an hour. The vinegar solution will do work its descaling magic simply by sitting in the kettle, so you don’t necessarily have to boil it for a set amount of time. If you don’t want to wait an entire hour, allow the solution to sit for at least 30 minutes before pouring it out.[3]

  • If yours is an electric kettle with an automatic switch-off feature, feel free to let it switch off on its own instead of watching to see when it boils.

How To Descale A Kettle

To descale a kettle, fill it with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water (one cup).

Leave the vinegar mixture in the kettle for 1 hour.

Then, dump it out and wipe down the inside of the kettle with a clean rag.

Once all the lime-scale is gone, rinse your kettle out with water 5 times, and voila.

4

Pour out the solution after an hour and rinse out the kettle. Be sure the kettle is cool to the touch before handling it. Thoroughly rinse the inside of the kettle under the sink faucet to get rid of any leftover vinegar solution. For best results, rinse out the kettle 2 or 3 times to get as much of the vinegar out of the inside as possible.[4]

  • If your kettle has a removable lid, take this lid off to make it easier to rinse out the interior. You can rinse the lid by itself to make sure it’s also clean.
5

Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe away any leftover limescale. The vinegar solution will probably not have removed all the limescale, but any leftover build-up should be easy to remove by hand. If a damp cloth isn’t cutting it, add a little bit of baking soda to a damp sponge and use that to clean out the inside of the kettle.[5]

  • For best results, use a microfiber cloth or a cleaning brush with an elongated handle. Make sure you get all the corners as well.
6

Run a plain water cycle to get rid of any lingering vinegar taste. Fill your kettle halfway with plain water and bring it to a boil. Pour this water out once it starts to boil. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times in order to completely deodorize the interior.[6]

  • Repeat this cycle until you can’t smell any vinegary odor in your kettle. You may also want to “test” your kettle by preparing a beverage in it and seeing if it tastes at all like vinegar.

How to clean microwave

How to clean microwave

The microwave is probably one of the most popular appliances in your home. It’s also the one that’s most in need of constant cleaning. Many companies market commercial cleaners and specialty chemicals as being the best at cleaning out your microwave – but not all of us are fans of using chemicals in our homes.

How to clean microwave

How to clean microwave

If you’d rather avoid the bad stuff, that’s totally fine! You can still clean your microwave, of course – and you probably have everything you need, right now in your kitchen, for the job. We promise, this naturally stuff is just as good as commercial cleaners – no tough scrubbing required! Here’s a list of ingredients you need for cleaning your microwave quickly and safely:

• Vinegar

• Baking Soda

• Lemons

• Lemon Essential Oil

• Water • Sponge

• Damp Cloth

• cup

• & a Microwave Safe Bowl

Stick with us, because in this video, we’ll be breaking down cleaning your microwave into two categories: with vinegar and with baking soda. If you have either of these two everyday kitchen items, you’re on your way to a clean microwave!

Let’s start with how to clean your microwave with vinegar. Just add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar in a glass cup or microwave safe bowl. You don’t need to mix these ingredients – just pop them straight in the microwave and put it on its highest heat setting. Set the timer for 5 minutes, and leave the vinegar to work its magic.

When your microwave dings, remove the cup or bowl. Be careful here, because it’ll be boiling hot – you’re going to want to use oven gloves or a tea towel to keep your hands protected, and be careful of the steam, too. Put the bowl to one side and wipe down interior of microwave with a damp cloth or sponge and you’re done. You should find that the vinegar has loosened any tough stains, and they should come right off.

As an added bonus, you can use the warm vinegar mixture to wipe down other dirty surfaces in your kitchen. Just make sure to let it cool to warm before you attempt to dip a cloth into the solution.

How to clean microwave

2. Lemon fresh method Another very similar method is to add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar in a microwave safe bowl, then cut one large lemon or two small lemons into slices. These lemons should add a little cleaning strength to your vinegar – plus, they’ll make your whole kitchen smell delicious. Place the cut lemon slices into your bowl of water and vinegar, then put it in your microwave and switch to a high heat. Set the timer for 5 to 6 minutes, then wait for it to ding. After this, you just follow the same steps as we’ve already mentioned: wipe down the interior of your microwave with a damp cloth or sponge and you’re done. Again, you can also save the warm lemon vinegar mixture to wipe down other dirty kitchen surfaces.

3. Lemon essential oil Speaking of lemons, if you happen to have some lemon essential oil lying around, you can also use that to effectively clean your microwave. For this method, just add 2 tablespoons of water to a microwavable-safe plate or bowl. Next, add 2 drops of lemon essential oil. Pop the plate or bowl in your microwave, make sure it’s on a high heat, and set the timer to 1 minute. When the minute is up, open the door to your microwave and place a clean sponge on the plate to absorb the remaining water. You can then use the sponge to wipe down the inside and outside of your microwave. The sponge shouldn’t be boiling, as you only left the essential oil to heat up for a single minute. But if it’s too hot to touch, give it a couple of minutes before picking it up.

4. Using baking soda From vinegar and lemon to one of the other most popular natural home cleaners of all time: baking soda. You can do much more with baking soda than simply adding it to cakes, you know! For this microwave cleaning hack, pour 1 cup of baking soda and 2 cups of water into a microwave-safe bowl. Give the water a stir to mix the baking soda in. Then place in your microwave and microwave on high for 6 minutes. In the same way that vinegar does, baking soda loosens the grime off the inside of your microwave. You should find that when you wipe the interior down with a damp cloth, the majority of grime comes away. For the most effective microwave clean, use this baking soda hack followed by the vinegar hack. You’ll have your microwave gleaming clean in no time.

5. Dish soap Dish soap is something that we all hopefully have to hand, making this one of the easiest microwave cleaning methods of all. Just fill a microwave safe bowl with warm water and add an ample amount of dishwashing soap. Put the bowl in the microwave for one minute, or until it begins to steam. Remove the bowl, being careful not to burn yourself, then dampen a sponge and wipe the inside of the microwave. The steam will loosen all of the dried-on debris.

What Materials Should Not Be Put in the Microwave?

There are certain materials that should never be microwaved because they’re a fire hazard, or they could explode or release toxic gasses. Here are some things that should not be put in the microwave:

  • Metal and containers with metal trim
  • Dishes with gold paint
  • Paper bags
  • Take-out containers
  • Sharp objects
  • Yogurt and butter containers
  • Eggs (in the shell)
  • Styrofoam
  • Grapes
  • Hotdogs
  • Uncovered sauces or dips
  • Dirty kitchen sponges
  • Dense vegetables such as raw carrots and green beans

Finally, if you’re thinking about turning your microwave on with nothing inside to see what happens, don’t. This can destroy your microwave, potentially blowing it to pieces.

When the microwave is turned on, the microwaves need to go somewhere. If they don’t have anywhere to go, they bounce off each other before being absorbed back into the microwave. In a worst-case scenario, this will cause the microwave to explode.

Kale: See the Light

This leafy green is a source of lutein and zeaxanthin, which are related to vitamin A and beta-carotene, and may help protect eye tissues from sunlight damage and reduce the risk of eye changes related to aging. Other good sources of these nutrients include dark green leafy vegetables such as collard greens, turnip greens and spinach, broccoli, peas, kiwi, red grapes, yellow squash, oranges, corn, papaya and pistachios. Your body needs fat to absorb lutein and zeaxanthin, so be sure to eat them with a bit of unsaturated fat such as a drizzle of olive oil or a few slices of avocado. And kale also contains vitamin C and beta-carotene, other eye-friendly nutrients.

CBD vs. THC

CBD vs. THC: What’s the Difference?

You’re probably hearing a lot about cannabis and marijuana products as they become legal in more and more states. Two natural compounds are getting the most attention: CBD and THC.

Cannabis is a plant that makes a thick substance full of compounds called cannabinoids. There are more than 100 of these chemicals in cannabis. They cause drug-like reactions in your body.

CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are the most common cannabinoids found in cannabis products.

THC and CBD are in both marijuana and hemp. Marijuana contains much more THC than hemp, while hemp has a lot of CBD.

Chemical Structure

CBD and THC have the same chemical formula — 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and two oxygen atoms. The difference lies in the way the atoms are arranged. That gives CBD and THC different chemical properties, and they affect your body differently.

Both CBD and THC work with receptors that release neurotransmitters in your brain. They can affect things like pain, mood, sleep, and memory.

CBD vs. THC

CBD vs. THC

How CBD and THC Affect the Body

THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana. It’s what makes people feel “high.”

We have two types of cannabinoid receptors in our bodies. THC binds with receptors — mostly in the brain — that control pain, mood, and other feelings. That’s why THC can make you feel euphoric and give you that so-called high.

CBD doesn’t cause that high. Instead, it’s thought to work with other elements in the body linked to feelings of well-being.

CBD vs. THC what is the difference?

Medical Benefits

People take CBD products to help with everything from arthritis and Crohn’s disease to diabetes and multiple sclerosis. Some say it helps with anxietyinsomnia, and chronic pain. So far, there’s little evidence that CBD helps with any of these.

The FDA has approved one CBD-based drug. Epidiolex is a treatment for several severe forms of rare childhood epilepsy.

CBD is a hot topic for researchers. The National Institutes of Health clinical trials database shows more than 160 trials involving CBD that are either active or recruiting.

Some states authorize the use of THC as part of medical marijuana, THC may help ease things like:

Side Effects

THC can cause:

  • Problems with concentration
  • Dizziness
  • Vomiting
  • Drowsiness
  • Balance
  • Memory loss

Side effects from CBD can include:

CBD can also change the way some medicines work.

A virtual tour of Jura Single Malt Whisky Distillery with Brand Home Manager, Mark Bruce

whisky distillery

On the small island of Jura lies a single distillery the Isle of Jura distillery. It mostly produces Single Malt Whisky and is very famous for its official bottlings.

The Whisky

The Isle of Jura’s core official range is made up of four bottlings of Jura: Origin 10 year old, Duirach’s Own 16 year old, Superstition, and Prophecy. All of the bottlings vary in flavor and age: Prophecy is young and quite heavily peated, while Duriach’s Own is not and has a mature character. The Superstition contains a mixture of unpeated as well as peated malts. The 10 years old is the well known standard and was the only available malt in former times. The distillery also has several other bottlings. The Turas-Mara, Elixier 12 years old, 21 years old. Very famous was a Jura 1984 Vintage bottling, which celebrated the the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell which he wrote on the island from 1946 to 1949. Finally there had been an Archive Bottlings Range, which features three ‘Boutique Barrels‘ bottlings from 1993, 1995 and 1999.

In something of a novelty situation, the official bottling seriously outnumbers independent bottlings from the Isle of Jura. There have been a few performed by such bottlers as Douglas Laing and Hunter Laing, which vary in ages and vintages, but the official collection provides a far thorough selection.

The Production

The Isle of Jura distillery produces an impressive 2.2 million liters of alcohol a year. A lot of it is sold as Single Malt. The water used in the production is drawn from the Loch a’Bhaile Mhargaidh, which also lies on the Isle of Jura. Jura is located sixty miles from the Scottish coastline, which adds another dimension to the difficulty of Whisky production: lack of accessibility. George Orwell famously referred to the distillery as ‘un-get-able’, in reference to how difficult it was to access the site. In terms of production support, the distillery boasts six stainless steel washbacks and a semi-lauter mash tun.

whisky distillery

A few miles off the west coast of Scotland you’ll find the Isle of Jura; remote, sometimes wild, yet always beautiful.

Home to more than 5000 deer and roughly 212 islanders, there is only one road, one pub and one whisky distillery.

Since 1810 this unique Island malt has been our greatest endeavour and our greatest reward. Discover more about Jura Whisky at jurawhisky.com.

The History

Jura is a very special place – it’s probably the only island in the world where Whisky barrels outnumber the human population. The Isle of Jura distillery sits in the island’s only town, Craighead. The distillery has had a two-phase history, much like many other distilleries that have undergone numerous openings and closings. Charles Mackinlay & Company built the modern-day distillery in 1960, with the first distilling taking place in 1963. However, there was a distillery at the site that dramatically pre-dates the modern facility.

How To Safely Jump Start A Vehicle With A Dead Battery & The Correct Way To Hook Up Jumper Cables.

Having to jump start a dead battery in a vehicle is something no one really likes to have to experience. It’s something that happens so infrequently, that when you’re faced with having to do it, you may not remember the best way to go about hooking everything up.

jump start a vehicle

It’s important to know how to jump start a car, or any vehicle for that matter, and the video will show you how to do that in this video in a very safe way. It may seem like a simple thing to do to many of you, but there are some wrong ways to do it that could cause damage to the vehicles involved, and possibly injury to yourself.

Common Steps to Jump-Start a Car

  • Park the car you’ll use for jump-starting next to the one with the dead battery, positioned close enough so that the cables will reach. The vehicles shouldn’t touch one another.
  • Turn off the ignition on both cars.
  • First, clamp one end of the positive cable to the dead battery’s positive clamp.
  • Now have a helper connect the other end of that cable to the other battery’s positive clamp.
  • Next, connect the negative cable to the negative terminal on the good battery.
  • Finally, connect the other end of the negative cable to a ground on the vehicle with the dead battery. This can be the engine block or another metal surface away from the battery. Be careful not to touch the two ends of the cable together while doing this.
  • Start the rescue car that is providing the electricity.
  • Start the car with the weak battery. If it doesn’t start, check your connections and tighten or clean as needed.
  • If it does start, let the problem car run for at least 20 minutes to allow the battery to recharge before shutting it off.
  • If it still doesn’t start, there may be another problem. Call a local service station for help.
  • Disconnect the cables in the reverse order.

Network marketing simple explanation

Network marketing simple explanation

How do you explain network marketing to a brand new person?

Years ago I was interviewed in the Wall Street Journal and a Washington D.C. magazine, and what they wrote about Network Marketing was very confusing.

I remember reading it and I was trying to keep up with it and I thought, “What?”

But it is not complex at all.

There is a very simple explanation of Network Marketing. For somebody who’s been in it and made millions, trust me, it is this simple. It really, really is. The goal should always be that we’re trying to reduce it to simplicity instead of make it more and more complex.

I’ve used a lot of different explanations over the years, but I believe I’ve simplified it down to the basics. Here’s how I’m now explaining it.

Business Categories

I want to start with orienting you on different categories of businesses.
Network marketing simple explanation on categories of businesses
In my last video I talked about all my side hustles, and I really wish somebody had shown me this chart way back then, because it would have been able to put everything into perspective for me.

Back then I just thought of business ownership as one of those stores in a strip mall or a restaurant or something like that. When we’re talking about a product-based company, a business that you might own, I want to show you the big categories. This is the way you look at it and evaluate it all.

First, there is the raw resources category of business, which includes things like sand and concrete and soil or metals, oil, gold, diamonds, trees, animals, water, all of these things have to be pulled from the earth. You could have a resources business. You’re going to be dealing with tractors and bulldozers and backhoes and things like that.

Then they go to the manufacturer and when you’re making glass for cell phones, for example, it comes from either granite or it comes from sand or something like that. Then something’s going to be made out of the raw resources, like bottles and jars. Milk and cream are from animals. Lavender, herbs, veggies, vitamins, things like that. That’s the manufacturing category of business.

Then there is branding, which is legal work, the licensing, the packaging, and the countries.

Then it has to be stored somewhere. And that is where the warehousing is. They pick the product off the shelf, and they charge you for that. Then they pack it. They charge you for that. And then they ship it. They charge you for that, and also for the storage inside that warehouse, the space that you occupy.

Then it goes to be sold. This is customer acquisition. This is where I play the game.

The last category of business is customer service. Not necessarily serving the customer, but returns, complaints, restocking, shipping, and handling multi-country orders.

That’s the big layout. When you’re looking at wanting to own your own business, you can step back and say, “Where do I want to play the game?”

For me, in particular, I chose sales and customer acquisition because of what I said in my last video, Side Hustles That Made Me a Millionaire, I mentioned a professor who made a statement that to make real money, you either have to own it or sell it.

At the time I couldn’t view myself owning a business. I felt as though that was for somebody a lot smarter than me. I just wanted to acquire customers. I didn’t know a thing about acquiring customers, but I still wanted to do that as opposed to being a business owner.

Customer Acquisition

What does Customer Acquisition entail? Well, you acquire customers and you service the customers. It has the highest margins with the most security. The person closest to the customer is the person who makes the most margin.

As an example, consider Walmart. They get the most margins compared to these other categories.

I want the highest margins and I want the most security.

I want you to think about something for a minute. A lot of people put a lot of emphasis on the CEO or the CFO or COO. But every bonus, every dividend that is paid out into a stock, every employee relies utterly on the sales acquisition team.

If you want security, don’t go work for a big company. Know how to get customers.

There will never be a business that doesn’t need to get customers. That is where you really start thinking about this concept:  Where do I want to play the game?
And if I’m in any of the other categories of business, then I’m reliant upon the people who are getting customers and the raw material people digging stuff out of the ground.

When I’m in customer acquisition, I’m closest to the customer. That is where you have utter security. Because at the end of the day, that is who gives you a dollar. It’s the customer who gives the company a dollar that ends up being split up into the various different employees of the company.

I don’t want to do all of the other business categories. I choose to find a partner to manage all of these categories, so that I can just focus on this little part of acquiring customers.

Network marketing simple explanation and how it works - see table

Network marketing simple explanation

The Simplicity of What a Network Marketing Company Is All About

Here is the simplicity of what a network marketing company is all about: It is a partnership. Period.

That’s the first thing you have to look at. It really is. When you sign a partnership agreement, you’re choosing a company based on:

  • the products
  • the compensation that they offer
  • their policies
  • their procedures of doing business
  • the culture
  • the training
  • countries that they’ve opened or are opening
  • the life-cycle of the products
  • and the life-cycle of the company.

That’s what you’re choosing. And you need to evaluate all of those.

Most people that I’ve witnessed, when they join a network marketing company,  someone shares the business with them,  and then they look at the product and they say, “You know what? I think I could sell that.”

That’s the limited amount of evaluation that goes on. It was no different with me. That’s the way that I first came into the business.  I had no idea what the products were.

It just so happened that wanted to go to settlement on a house that I’d an offer on.  And I needed some extra money for the settlement. So when I answered the ad and looked at the business opportunity I just said, “Yeah, sure. Why not?” I just happened to get lucky!

The company provides raw materials, manufacturing, branding, warehousing, shipping returns, and countries to do business in. That’s their job. You choose the company.

Now what’s your part of the partnership? You acquire customers.

You own your customers, and that’s a big deal. When you look out there and you see affiliate marketing like Amazon sellers, real estate, or insurance sales , they don’t own the customer. They are acquiring a customer for somebody else. And of course, the advantage to a network marketing company is that you own the customers that you acquire.

The other part of your partnership with a network marketing company is to acquire reps, if available.

The direct sales industry is an old industry. It started back in 1897 or something like that. Network marketing is a type of direct sales industry in which you’re able to get your own reps and train them. Your reps then also get all of the things that the network marketing company provides. You are on the upside of what you and your team build.

Comparable businesses like real estate, mortgage brokers, insurance agents, affiliate marketers, and Amazon sellers –  they would be most comparable in terms of the daily activities.

And that’s it. That’s what a network marketing company is, in its simplicity.

How Do You Acquire Customers and Reps?

What is this business of acquiring? How does that happen? First of all, I’ll just tell you that a lot of people, when they first look at the idea of sales, feel some hesitation. I know what I had to go through; there was a lot of noise in my head.

Every time I asked a girl to dance and she said, “No,” that thought of being rejected went through my head. I wasn’t sure I wanted to get rejected if I went into sales.  There were times when I had been manipulated to buy something, and I didn’t want to be like that and manipulate other people. I had a lot of that in my head.

Are You a “Born Salesman?”

There’s a phrase out there that people say: “born salespeople,” or “born salesman,” or “born sales lady.” Let’s look at this logically. Pretend that you go to a maternity ward. Look at the babies behind that window and try to figure out which one of them is going to be the next great salesman. They’re all screaming. They don’t even know English yet.

How can a salesman be “born?” Sales skills are not something you’re born with. Sales is something that you learn.

When I was in the Navy, the last thing in the world I wanted to do was sales. There could have been a billion jobs that I’d have taken, but sales would not have been one of them. I would never have chosen that.
There just happened to be one moment in time when I wanted to earn money. I was looking for how I could earn the most money without having to go through the long route, which would have been maybe a bachelor’s degree, maybe a master’s degree, and then climbing the ladder, all of that. I wanted to do it a little bit quicker.

I remember listening to someone speaking,  who was making over $80,000 a month. He was a research chemist at NIH, and he was also in a network marketing company. As I listened to him I thought, “Wow, that’s amazing that he, with all of those credentials decides to come into network marketing.” And then I calculated in my head, what does $80,000 a month equal on an annual basis? A million bucks a year!

Why would I learn any more bombs? That’s what I was doing in the bomb squad at that time; I was diffusing bombs. We would get bombs and figure out how to diffuse them. So the thought that was running in my mind was, why would I be learning that, making a really low income when, if I could learn to do sales, I could get an income like that guy?

Here Is the Simple Sequence of How to Sell

Network marketing simple explanation
I’m a bomb squad guy. To me, everything in our world is a sequence: first you do this, and then you do this, and then you do this. You don’t ever switch sequence.

It’s the same with sales, and if you follow along with me, I’ll walk you through the sequence of steps to make a sale.

Anytime you’ve been a customer, something happened just before that. What happened before?

There was a presentation of some kind. You walk into the store, and you see the potato chips that you want to buy, then you buy them. Seeing that bag of chips is a presentation. If you go to a doctor’s office, the presentation was the doctor. If you go to an attorney’s office, the presentation was the attorney. If you went into The Gap, you walked into that store and you saw the jeans. In every case, there had to be some kind of presentation.

Half of the time that I’ve ever made a sale, I followed up with the person first. Those who see the presentation can become a customer immediately, and sometimes you need to follow up with them because they have questions; they need to talk to their spouse, or they’re not quite ready yet.

Never have I ever been a customer or had a customer that didn’t see a presentation first, before buying.

Just before the presentation, there was an appointment. It might’ve been quick. You might’ve just walked into The Gap or whatever. But in a doctor’s office, an attorney’s office, sometimes in restaurants, you have to set an appointment.

Before the appointment, there had to be a contact with something. It could have been with the presentation, the store, or a person.

Before the contact, a lead had to be generated.  Sometimes that’s a little bit difficult for somebody to understand, so I’ll explain that next. A lead is really simple when you look at it and think about it.

A store in a mall paid premium real estate price so they get walk-by traffic. It’s the same with a restaurant, most often. That’s how they generate leads. Everybody in every business is going to have to do this. They may not have to set an appointment.

Online, you click on an ad on Facebook and it takes you straight to the presentation. They put a follow-up series on where they’re re-targeting you as you go across the internet. That’s your follow-up.

Every business, every politician, every nonprofit, every school, every organization that wants to expand has to do this sequence. It is not an option. These are laws. It’s not an opinion. This is how any customer is acquired.

Never Force Someone to Buy

Now I’m going to tell you about how I feel about manipulation of a person who doesn’t want to buy.  I’m never going to try to force someone to buy a product I offer.. That is what Tim never does. Never. Because that’s the icky feeling that you’re going to assume is when you push too hard.

I’ll give you an example from a very unlikely situation. I had this vision, this dream of the perfect girl. It started in the first grade. That’s where I got this idea, and I just knew she existed, but somehow I kept messing it up.

I would choose the wrong girl, or I was wrong for her. One time I really fell for a girl, and then she broke up with me and it tore me up. I was in the Navy at the time, and all my buddies said, “You need to get a life. Come on, come out with us,” and I said, “No, no, no.” It really bummed me out.

I remember at one point I didn’t even know if I could try. I’d failed so many times, and I thought, “I don’t even want to look at that, and I don’t want to do that.” But I also thought I had to look at something different because I didn’t want to keep creating that same situation.

Then I had this epiphany: I knew what color hair she would have, I knew what color eyes she would have, I knew what color fingernail polish she would wear. I knew everything about this dream. But I didn’t ever put on the list that she would want me as much as I wanted her.

That’s what was missing. That has to be at the top of the list. You don’t commit until you know that. That’s the way that I build.

This is my wife.

I met her when a friend brought her over to my house for a business thing. To make a long story very short, I contacted her again and I asked her to go out to dinner. I was the presentation, and she was the presentation. I followed up, I contacted her again. I set an appointment for a movie and dinner. It went well. I followed up again, and I just kept going back and forth for three years until I absolutely knew that she wanted it as much as I did.

How I Keep It Professional

There’s one very unprofessional thing that I see in the network marketing space, and that is that there are some network marketers who don’t have that same epiphany that I had – that the customer has to want the product as much as I do before they will buy it.

If I generate a lead and the person doesn’t answer my call, it’s done. If you’re going to lose, lose fast. It’s over.

I’m good with that because I don’t want to create additional failures. If I set an appointment and the person doesn’t show up for the presentation, that’s awesome. I now know where they stand. That lead gets moved over into a column over here called “not interested,” just like that.

If they see the presentation and they say they’ll think about it, I follow up. If they see the presentation and they say, “No, thank you,” then I don’t follow up.

If the presentation is a video and they don’t even respond back, I’m going to follow up just in case they didn’t watch it. I don’t worry if I communicate with them and they don’t reply. Maybe they’re on vacation or they are tied up at work or with a family situation, so I’ll continue to follow up.

But after seven times, I don’t anymore, and the person moves over into the “not interested” category. That’s the big thing that allows me to be very professional because my job is not to convince every lead. My job is to move that lead to contact, that contact to appointment, that appointment to presentation, or that contact to “not interested.”

I just move leads across the pipeline in a very professional way. I’m looking for the person who wants it as much as I do, because if I sponsor somebody who doesn’t want it, then I’m going to have to tug and drag them. I don’t want that kind of business partner.

That’s what I’m looking for: a business partner.

I’m going to explain this pipeline to them when we do the presentation. I’m going to say, “Network marketing is where you acquire customers.” I’m not going to tell them, “It’s not sales.” There’s no business in the world that doesn’t require sales, unless you want to be an assistant or a secretary, or you want to build something. But in the sales division, this is what we do: the pipeline.

Quantity Matters

You have to generate a quantity of leads to move across the pipeline. Quantity matters most. Quality will increase your conversions between each step of the pipeline. It’s the quality that increases conversion, but you cannot get quality at it unless you do a high enough quantity. That’s really the secret.

There are no born salespeople. Don’t believe that. You’re looking instead for somebody who is going to want it as much as you, and you’re only looking for that.

How to start intermittent fasting Today, we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting.

How often should you do intermittent fasting?

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent Fasting

There are a few different intermittent fasting schedules you can follow: 5:2

I do not like this fasting schedule. With this fasting schedule, you eat pretty much what you want for 5 days, and then for 2 days you do a version of intermittent fasting.

However, it takes 3-5 days to adapt to ketosis. With this fasting pattern, you’re going to be hungry, and you’re going to have a lot of cravings. You’re also going to be spiking insulin on the 5 days, and the 2 days are going to be insignificant.

Every other day  With this fasting schedule, you don’t eat anything for one day, and then you eat the next day, and you go back and forth like that. Again, it will be rough because it takes 3-5 days to adapt. I also don’t care for this fasting schedule.

The best fasting schedules: 16:8

This is where you fast for 16 hours, and you have an 8 hour eating window.

This is really great for the average person.

It’s best to only have 2 meals in your fasting window.

20:4

With this fasting schedule, you fast for 20 hours, and your eating window is 4 hours.

This schedule has even more fasting benefits for your brain, heart, repair, and anti-aging.

OMAD

OMAD means you only eat one meal a day.

Many people do this with fantastic success, and it has even more intermittent fasting benefits than the 20:4 fasting schedule.

Some people may even need to do one meal a day every other day.

With all of these different fasting schedules, you can also add periodic prolonged fasting.

This is where you fast a little longer (48-72 hours), maybe every two weeks or once a month.

This is just the icing on the cake.

A few more things to keep in mind while doing intermittent fasting:

• Always do healthy keto when you eat

• It’s easiest to do intermittent fasting daily

• Look at the purpose of doing it (weight, or health)

My intermittent fasting guide:

• Start out with 3 meals a day with no snacking (add fat to the meal)

• Next, don’t eat unless you’re hungry (go as long as you can without eating)

• Slowly let your body adapt to 2 meals and then 1 meal a day

• Let your body tell you when to eat, adding fat when necessary

• Make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need
